Antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) are a targeted monoclonal antibody carrying a cytotoxic agent. ADC binds specifically to a targeted antigen on the surface of cancer cells. Upon internalization and trafficking to lysosome, the cell-killing agent is released from ADC and disrupts the cellular function leading to cancer cell death.
